The public page for LionVII report GZHT91431592 shows that the tested leather-belt samples exceeded the stated strap and attachment requirements and completed 500 flexing cycles without the listed cracking, coating-loss, edge-paint, or delamination failures. It does not establish a lifetime in years or a safe carrying load.
Unlike LionVII’s other current test entries, this report has a manufacturer-hosted image that can be read directly. The page identifies SATRA TM181:2017, Strength of Straps, Buckles & Related Attachment. SATRA defines this method for buckle and strap attachments in completed footwear; it is not a belt-specific product standard. The visible Intertek page says the listed tests were conducted as requested by the applicant. SATRA explains that TM181 gradually stretches a prepared specimen until failure and records the breaking force, failure type, and failure location. Depending on specimen preparation and clamping, it can assess the buckle attachment, strap in the closed buckle, strap attachment, or strap itself.
That scope is why the rows must remain separate. The highest belt-body number is not the buckle-and-strap number, and neither value should be presented as the normal load a person can safely hang from the finished belt.
What the 500-cycle flexing result says
The same report page names QB/T 5246-2018 for flexing resistance. China’s National Public Service Platform for Standards identifies this as a current recommended industry method for dynamic flexing of leather belt products.
After 500 cycles, the report records:
- no cracking or coating coming off at the face or side;
- no cracking or flaking of the edge paint;
- no cracking or delamination in the multi-layer belt body.
This is a useful, bounded durability observation. It tests visible damage under the specified flexing procedure. It does not measure scuffing from desks, sweat chemistry, water exposure, ratchet-track fatigue, buckle-release cycles, or appearance after months of office wear.
Why 762.7 N is not a belt carrying rating
The 762.7 N result belongs to one belt-body specimen. The finished system also includes the buckle, buckle-to-strap interface, track, clamp, stitching or lamination, and the wearer’s trousers and loops. The visible page reports lower values for the buckle-and-strap interface than for the belt body.
A laboratory breaking-force result is therefore evidence about a defined sample and setup, not permission to use a dress belt for:
- climbing or fall protection;
- restraint or rescue;
- heavy tool, holster, or pouch support;
- towing, lifting, or securing cargo.
For ordinary office and casual clothing, the result is best used as evidence that the submitted specimens met the report’s stated component requirements—not as a reason to invent a “maximum weight.”
Does the report apply to the Titan Black ASIN?
LionVII labels the quality-page entry “Leather Belt · Metal Ratchet Buckle.” Its reviewed core dress model, ASIN B0DPDKY6DS, is also described by LionVII as a Premium Leather strap with a metal ratchet buckle.
However, the visible report page does not show an ASIN, SKU, product photograph, color, lot, sample receipt date, or model name. The construction is consistent with the core dress model, but exact sample-to-ASIN identity remains unverified from the public page alone. Buyers who need that mapping should request all three report pages and written confirmation from LionVII.
What the report does not say about leather quality
The test result does not turn “Premium Leather” into full grain, top grain, or a single-layer hide. Strength and flexing performance are different questions from material classification.
